Dr. Patricia Tice has won the Dallas County Board of Supervisors race in Dallas County, Iowa for District 3.
Dallas County recently increased the number of supervisors for the fastest growing county in the Midwest. Going from three to five supervisors was recommended by the mayors of the county. For the first time, voters had five potential supervisors from which to choose. The supervisor candidates were required to run from their own district, but were voted in At-Large.
Tice, a retired College Counselor and community leader, faced an incumbent who served as a supervisor for 20+ years. Tice finished with 27,652 (52.05%) of the vote. The incumbent finished with 25,402 (47.82%) of the vote.
With the campaign theme of LOVE. LISTEN. LEARN., Tice shared with potential voters that LOVE. LISTEN. LEARN. are the keys to leadership. Working with area democratic leaders, Tice spread her message throughout Dallas County, door-knocking, canvassing and speaking to groups.
“People of any town or municipality want and need core services. Basic needs such as fire and police protection, road maintenance, clean water, great public schools. We need to recognize people for the job they do, show gratitude and appreciation for their work.”
“My goal is to Be Approachable, Open Minded, Accessible, Authentic, and Kind. Always. With a steady commitment to fiduciary responsibility for a prosperous Dallas County for all. Empathy, dedication and conviction in public service is what I will do.”
“Thank you to all of my supporters (Good Humans, one and all) and even those who did not support me, thank you. This is democracy in action. I appreciate your efforts in building a prosperous, healthy, beautiful Dallas County for all.”
“What a privilege it is, to be able to see, hear, breathe, live a life, walk and talk in our Dallas County. Thank you for believing in me. I am ready to serve with enthusiasm and honor.”
